With the fall upon us, it's important to prepare now for the coming winter months. The winter months can be a trying time for many people;  both emotionally and physically. The days get darker faster, are colder and shorter, and our bodies become more susceptible to all kinds of winter bugs and viruses. It is tempting to stay indoors and wrap up, but activity and socializing are really important for healthy immune function and good mental health.

Having a simple winter health plan can go a long way to help you cope with colder weather and stay above the wellness line this season. If you do fall below the wellness line, having tools on hand to help you recover more quickly is a must.

 1. WASH YOUR HANDS
This is the number one way to prevent the spread of germs. Experts recommend washing your hands every few hours, especially after using the restroom, before meals and after using someone else's phone or keyboard, using a shopping cart, or touching public doorknobs.

 2. PAY ATTENTION TO NUTRITION
One of the best ways to support your body's immune system is to consume nutrient-dense foods. Eating vegetables and herbs activates immune-strengthening phytochemicals and increases antioxidant levels. Herbs such as rosemary, thyme and sage help reduce congestion, support lung function, build resistance and reduce infection. Bone broth naturally supports your immune system, as does garlic. And be sure to avoid sugars and simple carbohydrates - they are notorious for weakening your immune system.

 3. GET GOOD SLEEP
Regular sleep is vital to staying healthy. You're more likely to get sick when you aren't well-rested, and resting when you are sick helps your body heal more quickly. If you have trouble sleeping because of stress, CBD might be a helpful strategy to try. If you are not a hemp person Q SLEEP Spray or Q SLUMBER are great to get you amazing rest.
Having a relaxing nighttime routine and getting off screens about an hour before bed can help as well.

4. DRINK GREENS TO ALKALINE YOUR BODY.
Why do we want to have an alkaline body?
A recent study shows that if you have an acidic body you can’t heal.
An acidic pH may result in weight problems and diabetes. When our body is too acidic, we suffer from a condition known as Insulin resistance, acne,  allergies and low immunity.
What to do?
Stop eating dairy products, grains, and sugars, stop drinking sodas and artificial juices and start eating more vegetables and greens. I personally can’t eat 3-4 bowls of greens which is why I am drinking greens every day. My golden nectar is helping to alkaline the body and boost the immune system as well.

Healing with medicinal plants is as old as mankind itself. The connection between man and his search for drugs in nature dates back to the earliest recorded history. Knowledge of medicinal plants is the result of many years of struggles against illnesses and disease, with only plants and nature to combat those illnesses. Throughout history, mankind learned to pursue therapeutics in barks, seeds, fruits, leaves, flowers, and other parts of plants.
